May Check-In
Hi everyone! I took a little sabbatical from this blog but wanted to get at least one quick post in this month! My miniature poodle is thirteen years old today. That is the big 9-1 in people years! All I can say is I hope to still get around as well as he does when Continue reading

Lemon in Your Hand, Hubba Bubba in Your Mouth
I just watched a video on Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) with an elementary school-aged child. Do y’all want to try it with me? Your elementary school years are probably long past, but so what? We adults are young and heart and can reap the benefits of tapping into our inner child from time to time. Continue reading

Spring has Sprung!
April is a great month. I don’t suffer from pollen allergy, so yeah – great month! Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, I’m running outside again! I can feel my mood lifting with each turn of the calendar page. Seasonal Affective Disorder is LEGIT. Don’t ever let anybody tell you any different! I’ve officially Continue reading

Ode to Biscuit
This post is for all the dog people out there. For everyone who has ever experienced the profound love and loyalty a dog has to offer. I have a miniature poodle named Biscuit. He will be thirteen years old in May and he is my number one fan. Sometimes, life gives us emotions so big, Continue reading

Manson vs. Teresa
My daughter recently stated that she does not believe that anyone is all good or all bad. In the same vein, I don’t believe that anyone is all sane or all insane. Divorceaversary

In my state, twelve months of separation is required before a divorce is made final, so technically, I have not lived with my ex for a decade now. In many ways, the past ten years feels like a lifetime rolled into one. Time Continue reading

It’s Ok to Scream at the Universe
Life is like a wicked game of Russian Roulette. Your fortune and misfortune are often linked to genetics and family of origin, but free will and luck-of-the-draw are equally responsible for the plot twists that befall you. ‘Why Me’ and ‘Why NOT Me’ are both fair exclamations to unleash as you hurtle toward your destiny. Continue reading

Embracing the Gray
Black, white, and gray – a tableau of human perspective. Empaths, like me, live in the gray. Bouncing from one pair of shoes to the next, in an attempt to understand and relate to others. It’s a fine line, isn’t it? Relating to others and developing a strong sense of self? To develop a strong Continue reading
About Me
I have Clinically Isolated Syndrome. It’s like MS without the ‘multiple’ part. My brain has one sclerosis. Sclerosi? Anyway, it’s a doozy. I am also a therapist working toward independent clinical social work licensure. I have a husband, two adult children, and two poodles. I love to read, write, and exercise. I strive to eat something green and to make someone smile every day!
