Welcome to the Family, Kid.
This is a picture of my fridge in its current state. Some of you will have absolutely no idea what this is in reference to and that’s ok. I was 10 years old when a movie about a singing Venus Flytrap was released. Overnight, Little Shop of Horrors became a much wilder success than even Continue reading

Thrifting
I love me a good secondhand store. Retail prices are exorbitant, and mostly, so is my taste. I am a hippie at heart, so my style veers quite a bit into the boho/vintage lane. Once, on a trip to NYC, I told my now husband that I wanted to go in to Free People and Continue reading

How to Disappear and Never Be Found
My husband and I are out of town this week, exploring a new city for a possible job transfer. I booked us a cute little, tiny cabin for the week, with a cute little, tiny porch. The gravel crunched underneath our tires in harmony with the sound of my “awww”s as we pulled into the Continue reading

MRI..I..I..I Don’t Wanna!
I actually do want to get my MRI today. I’m rather looking forward to it. It’s for my shoulder. When I awoke with my initial MS symptoms 2.5 years ago, I had nerve pain on the entire right side of my body. For some reason that no one has yet been able to uncover or Continue reading

REM Tryin’ to REM
Bluetooth sleep masks are the single greatest invention of the 21st century. Who wouldn’t want to drift off to sleep to the sounds of a novice podcaster unfurling the mysteries and horrors of an often unsolved (and highly disturbing) true crime? I have, in fact, settled into slumber in this fashion many a night. Does Continue reading

48
My birthday is a couple weeks away. I have almost survived 48 years on this planet. One of my favorite things to do around this time is to reflect on my new experiences and adventures of the past year. The major new things I can think of in the past 12 months, include: What would Continue reading

The Vanderbilts
I have visited the Biltmore Estate many times. As a child, I used to pretend I lived there as I stood out on the balcony overlooking the vast landscape. I remember thinking the indoor pool looked steep and the bowling alley an odd addition. I mean, wouldn’t it sound like thunder to the fellow inhabitants? Continue reading

One-Year Celebration
I started this blog a little over a year ago. This is a huge milestone for me as I don’t think I have ever managed to write on a somewhat-consistent basis for this length of time before. I have not gained a huge following, but I am happy with the little tribe I have collected, Continue reading

Professionalism
Ok, let’s get this straight up front: I am not asking you to like everyone, to be a doormat, a kiss-ass, or a sickly-sweet, fake, knock-off brand of genuine. However. Tact is a real thing, and it can take us a long way in life if we can learn how to walk the tight rope Continue reading

A Little Green, A Little Processed
My grocery cart is the one that contains pop tarts and asparagus, Nutella and broccoli. I have a wide palette and I am not one to deny myself a treat from time to time. From this standpoint, I do think ‘you are what you eat.’ I am as diverse as my diet. I am reliable Continue reading
About Me
I have Clinically Isolated Syndrome. It’s like MS without the ‘multiple’ part. My brain has one sclerosis. Sclerosi? Anyway, it’s a doozy. I am also a therapist working toward independent clinical social work licensure. I have a husband, two adult children, and two poodles. I love to read, write, and exercise. I strive to eat something green and to make someone smile every day!
